CB Passive Income License is a program created by Patrick Chan, a well-known and very successful internet marketer. He’s been continually upgrading the program and the latest version is named CB Passive License 5.0. The name of the program is quite long, so I’ll be using the CBPI acronym mostly from now on.
I decided to learn about CBPI myself, so I signed up for 2 weeks $1 trial. I like to test before I buy anything, because there are so many scams online, especially in the internet marketing niche.
Also, when I review a product, I want to have direct and personal experience. I don’t like writing reviews, just based on research and other reviews, because many reviewers are biased; they either promote the product for affiliate commissions, or criticize the product, because they want to promote another product.
I signed up and used CBIP for over a week, so I have a real understanding how it works and if it’s worth buying or not.
I must say right in the beginning that CBIP has some pros and cons, which I’ll explain in this review. CBIP might be valuable for some people, but not for everyone. So, please keep on reading, to find out if it’s for you.
CB Passive Income License 5.0 Review
Let me start with the price. CBIP can be bought for $47 per month or $97 per quarter. If you decide not to buy right away, you’ll be offered the $1 trial, which lasts 2 weeks. 2 weeks is enough to see if it’s for you or not. So, it’s a good idea to go for the trial first. But even if you sign up right away for the monthly or quarterly payment, you still have 60 days, to resign and ask for your money back.
The program is sold via Clickbank, so it’s easy to buy it, and it’s covered by Clickbank’s 60 day money back guarantee.
Right after buying the program I saw some upsells, which I declined. Patrick Chan claims that the program works well on its own, but still offers some upsells. I decided to test the main program only, so I didn’t buy any upsells.
Who Is the Author of the Program?
The author of the CBIP is Patrick Chan. Patrick Chan is not just an internet marketer, but kind of celebrity in the internet marketing world, considered as one of the internet marketing gurus.
He wrote together with Robert G. Allen, the “Clicking Cash” book, which in 2012 was considered as one the best books about making money from the internet.
Patrick Chan also lectured about the internet marketing and making money online in many countries. It’s important to know it and to understand that he isn’t some online scammer, and he isn’t just trying to make some quick cash from newbies. It does not mean that his program is perfect.
What Is CB Passive License Income 5.0 Program?
As it’s written on the sales page, CBIP is the whole funnel of Patrick Chan that will make money for you. The truth is that it will make more money for Patrick Chan, but it will for you too, if you can get traffic to one of the funnels.
The funnels are:
- Optin Funnel
- Book Funnel
- Evergreen Funnel
Patrick Chan takes care of all the funnels, marketing and selling different Clickbank products. Your job is to get traffic and give away some free products to get people into the funnel. Once they are in, Patrick Chan sends emails to them with different free products and some paid offers too. Whenever they buy anything, you make money. There are pros and cons of this program, so now let’s look into them.
The Pros
Although Patrick Chan says it’s a great product for the newbies, I think it has more value to internet marketers who already have some experience.
One of the best ways of making money online is with email marketing. If you have many people who signed up to your email list, and you know how to have a good relationship with the people on your list, you can make money regularly from your list.
The problem is that it isn’t easy for many marketers to build such a list, have a good relationship with the people on the list, and market to them regularly. So, if you are an online marketer who has a website, who knows how to get either organic or paid traffic, then you can drive it to the CBIP optin page, which you’ll get from CBIP.
To get the organic traffic you need your own website, because the optin page won’t rank in the search engines because of the duplicate content. So, you need to send the traffic from your website to the CBIP optin page, and then they will do email marketing for you.
Many people criticize CBIP that why would make someone work hard to get traffic and then send it to CBIP. Why not promote and sell without CBIP if you know how to get traffic? It’s a good point, but they don’t see the opportunity of another income stream here.
I can promote and sell different products, but I can also send some traffic to CBIP, and then they’ll sell for me through their email marketing. So, all I need to do is to get people to the CBIP optin page, and once they sign up, CBIP will do the rest. I don’t need to do anything more, and I’ll get passive income.
CBIP will continue to market to the people on the list new products and offers, so you can make money for years in this way.
It’s a good opportunity to versify income for marketers who know how to get traffic, but who don’t do email marketing themselves. I am one of such marketers. I do content marketing, but I don’t do email marketing; at least not yet.
I don’t see other pros in CBIP, but the one described above is a significant one; but only for marketers who already know how to get traffic, and want to add another income stream.
The Cons
The main problem with CBIP is that it markets mostly to newbie marketers, saying it’ll will take care of everything, except of getting the traffic to the optin page. The good thing is that Patrick Chan clearly says what he won’t do.
So, all the newbies must do, is to drive traffic to CBIP funnel. But this is not easy for newbies. Getting traffic in the make money online niche is very hard because of huge competition. So, it’s very unlikely that a newbie will get enough traffic to get enough people into the funnel, to make any money. This is the main problem with the CBIP.
CBIP on the sales page in the summary writes: “You are simply investing in a business system where your only job is to giveaway valuable internet marketing products… and you will collect a lifetime of commission on whatever they buy!”
Sounds good and easy, but how can a newbie who has no idea how to get traffic can do it? This is the hardest part for the inexperienced internet marketers.
To solve the problem, Patrick Chan has some Traffic Promotion training, that teaches people how to drive traffic to the “secret page” they must promote to get optins.
Unfortunately the training is quite poor and not enough in my opinion. I learned internet marketing from Wealthy Affiliate, where I was taught what to do with the step-by-step training, how to get traffic. The training there is very comprehensive with videos. But in CBIP they only teach you how to get traffic with Solo Ads, Bing Ads, and YouTube.
I don’t think the training in CBIP is of good quality and it’ll be enough to get enough traffic to make money. People can find better training for free on the internet.

CBIP is certainly not a scam. It’s a genuine program that can make money, someone who can drive traffic to the CBIP optin page.
If someone is a newbie, who doesn’t know how to get traffic, then it’ll be very hard to make any money, unless you learn how to do it, from CBIP training. The CBIP training might not be enough, so it’s better to sign up for free to Wealthy Affiliate, to learn how to get traffic and make money online first.

If you are new to online marketing and you don’t know how to make money online, then CBIP isn’t for you. Earlier mentioned by me Wealthy Affiliate Community is a much better option. You got me laughing when you wrote: “it will make more money for Patrick Chan”.It’s like I knew you were going to mention something like that. Where the person that is the owner of the program, makes more money from people online looking for passive income.
Isn’t that a red flag when a program is targeting newbie marketers? they think that newbies know nothing so they can easily get away from fooling them into anything.

If someone creates a good program that I can make money with, or learn something valuable, I don’t mind that the creator makes money too. I would call it win-win situation, not really a red flag.

This is a shame as I’ve been looking to learn the ropes with affiliate marketing, and this was one of the products that was recently pointed out to me. From the sounds of things a complete newbie like me may get a little lost with this training?
Anyway, what would you suggest instead for someone that has no real experience? I’m preferably looking for some training that’s low cost to start with?
